For those who have Lightforce 240's

Post by Badass Bundy »

I just recently had these spotlights put on my bull bar and they look

Image

However, just seeing how you guys set yours up with the covers. I have the crystal blue covers on mine. Both combo covers.

Do you guys prefer one spot and one spread, or two combo's?

Is there any difference between the two setups?

Thanks in advance.

Try them yourself... see what you like.
I've tried spot/spread works well for me, but not with blue covers. I had clear covers with the defuser in it.

2 x combo covers and 55w HID kit :) :) :)

With the combo's, you mayt see them occasionally with the lightforce writing slanted- sort of like the sides of a triangle?

The LF diffusers are vertical- and spread the beam in a flat spread across the road. I tend to run the covers tilted/rotated slightly (as above) as i find it removes the dark/blind patch down to the sides of the road.

This is what I have done

I have since replaced the blue covers with clear ones though (2x combo and 1x spot in the middle).

I have found that the blue kills a lot of the light output.

The crystal blue covers are not Illegal as they shine a white light, but the dark blue are illegal as they shine a blue light.

yep, any forward facing lights have to be white/yellow/orange so crystal blue covers are ok, but green, red & dark blue are illegal.

I run 4 up front, two spots on top, two combos on bottom, both with light blue covers.

Very good light output.

Lightforce don't make a full spread for the 240's so i'm running a combo on each. I would like a full spread cover as the combo still doesn't put out as much spread as i'd like. I should have gone with 170's because at least they have a full spread cover.

cheers
