Re: worst accident damaged patrol i have seen
I'd say by the looks of it, the car is loaded with household items (is that a washing machine or a dryer??) Certainly looks to be full of household items so maybe leaving home? Then maybe leaving home in unhappy circumstances .... then maybe driven into oncoming truck in an act of self harm?jessie928 wrote:with trailer still, i wonder what the story was
Purely guessing but whatever the reason, the result is big.

That would have to be one of the most inconsiderate dumb ar$ed comments to even make.Simo63 wrote: I'd say by the looks of it, the car is loaded with household items (is that a washing machine or a dryer??) 2015 200 Series Gx TTD - ................ Fark 3L's -
Look at the front left tyre, looks like its had a blow out. Could have happened at high speed and then lost control and went head on with something big. Weird thing is it doesn't really look like anyone was in the car, wouldn't it be all cut open from the jaws of life when they were trying to get them out?
Certainly has that look to itchunks wrote:Look at the front left tyre, looks like its had a blow out. Could have happened at high speed and then lost control and went head on with something big. Actually no I don't find it amusing. Where did I say I found it amusing? You must be a fit person with all your jumping to conclusions. Either that or you knew the assumed deceased?KIWI wrote:And I'm sure you'd find it amusing if it were someone you knew involved in the accident? Like I said it's a big accident and I hope nobody was in the car at the time it was hit. I was merely responding to Jes's first question "I wonder what the story was". I've seen many bad accidents in my time and to do that much damage to the Patrol would indicate a combination of lots of speed, no braking at all and a direct hit. Of course you can be unlucky but rarely do all three of these elements combine without intent.
Another theory is that the driver went to sleep, put their foot down and drove straight into an oncoming truck ... there .. does that make you feel better? Please note I'm still not finding the thought of human life loss funny so don't go jumping to conclusions again.
Of course .. I'm finding you and your responses quite amusing though

I agree as well, the tyre does look like it's had a blow out. And the pic showing the B pillar on the ground looks to me like it's been cut out using the jaws so I would suspect the car was occupied at the time unfortunately.chunks wrote:Look at the front left tyre, looks like its had a blow out. front tires probably blew in the collision. however what's probably more important is the missing right rear wheel. the other's, especially the front survived the impact but the rear didn't ??Simo63 wrote:I agree as well, the tyre does look like it's had a blow out. could have easily had the rear rim come off and got thrown into the oncoming traffic.
could have been muiltable other things.
just hope its no one from here.
:(
As a motor vehilces insurer for many years I had he odd occassion to deal with fatal crashes.
Let me assue you it is never easy.
Even 10 years after my last one I still feel the pain!
This was a biggie and salvaging parts may need to the use of latex gloves.

Re: worst accident damaged patrol i have seen
yeah they do sell them. when i bought a motor a few years ago from a wreckers in slacks creek, there was an au falcon that had hit a pole, ripped the boot/ rear end off, then rolled a few times completely crushing the cab flat with the door. never seen so much blood in my life, didnt even look like it was cleaned up at all. seats were red, floor was dried pools of blood.PacMan wrote:

didnt wanna drive at all for a while after that
turbos are nice but i'd rather be blown
Actually now you mention it Bruce, isn't there a problem with GU's breaking wheel studs?bogged wrote:Could have been right rear fell off..chunks wrote:Look at the front left tyre, looks like its had a blow out.

GU and GQ with alloys like to launch wheels into into the scenery. usually wheel studs vanishing, and then breaking studs, not so much just snapping studs. i did a left rear, and so have a few other people i know of, but the common story tends to be right hand...Simo63 wrote:Actually now you mention it Bruce, isn't there a problem with GU's breaking wheel studs?bogged wrote:Could have been right rear fell off..chunks wrote:Look at the front left tyre, looks like its had a blow out.

when mine came off, it wasnt hard to keep the car in a straight line..
and to chunderlicious, you should ahve said something, before a wrecker takes hold of a car they should be cleaned completely.

Sorry, you are right, it was someone elses comment on first dibs on the spare wheel. Just don't see the need to make light hearted comments over something that may potentially have taken someones life.Simo63 wrote:Actually no I don't find it amusing. I do however find the comment that someone could have done this deliberately a little overboard. Theres a difference between commenting on an accident, and possible suicide, but thats just me seeing it from the point of view as if it were someone I knew
