The Best Gear oil
I'm after some results on the best oils out there. I want to keep the cruisers gearbox+transfer+diffs happy behind the V8. So have I've found on google that the best out there are Amsoil, Royal Purple and Redline. Anyone have any experience with these? Also anyone know how penrite sin gearbox oil stacks up to the others or is it not even in there category?

Define "best oils"? By what criteria? Some oils which work well in one gearbox will be not good in another. I think you need to research your trans, and find out who's having success with what.
I used Penrite in the front and rear diffs of the Paj, and no issues to date. The gearbox is notorious for a notchy shift; Castrol make a gear oil (VMX-M) specifically for Mitsubishi gearboxes. They also have different synthetics recommended for different transmissions.
I recently put RP Synchromax into a Getrag 6 speed which had a notchy shift and would (occasionally) refuse to go into first. Since the change, I've never had it refuse to go into first, and the shift feels a little smoother, although it's still nothing like the Jap boxes I've been driving for 20 years.
My mechanic told me that the oil in the box before the change was Redline - which others will swear is the best oil available.
Bottom line: there is no "best oil" - only good oils for a particular application. Give more detail on your application, and then concentrate on reports from those with the same application. The Castrol synthetic which works best for my Paj isn't necessarily a saviour for your 'cruiser.

Toyota recommend a 75w-90 I believe. As there is going to be a fair bit more force going into the gearbox from the V8 I'm guessing I need a gear oil that'll really stick to the gear surfaces with the higher pressures. The 5 speed cruiser boxes are always abit notchy too so i'm hoping to clear that up and get the gearbox to last as long as possible. H150 is the gearbox model.

1 of my mates used redline oil in the gearbos of his twin turbo 300ZX. after the change the box became notchy and started to make some funny noises. when we changed out the oil less than 2000km's later it had turned to a very thick custard consistency. as a result will not be using redline again. Have had good success with castrol in the past.

Running SIN75 in the rear (diff), happy so far, seems to be quieter (noise was my main problem).

We put castrol VMX 80 in gear boxs, LSX 90 in lsds, then usally just medium gear oil in tranny and front diff (open). Never have had a problem! Boss swears by it and he has been doing it for the last 40 years!
1996 HZJ75RP, DTS turbo with 3inch exhaust, rear locker, MTZs, 2inch shackles, 2 inch custom packs!
