rear axcle seals

dose any one know of a good machnice work shop in melbourne around breaside that can do rear axcle seals on a 1988 nissan patrol GQ ST 4.2L
for cheap at all???

if so how much woulds be llooking at ?

to do myself iv only just bought nissan a while ago and i am a lil unsure of the sort of seals i need to do them can anyoine help with this ?
and what sort of dollors are invovled in it?

No idea mate, but its axle not axcle.

Best bet it to buy a Gregorys manual for your car from Repco or similar and have a read, it will explain what seals to use.

Yeah as Tonka said, or just go down to Repco and tell them ur car and wat u need and they will grab it for ya.
Axle seals are easy.
-Take wheel off
- take brake compnents off
- slide axle out
- replace seal and put everything back in

will take ya a coupla hours!!

I think the seals are only worth somewhere between 10 and 20 bucks each.

yeah i have just seen iv spelled it wrong ,


i have gotten a name and number
dave - oz auto 4WD in seaford seem to know his stuff on nissan so i'll give him a buzz and see what he has to say

but yeah manuals 40 bucks from repco was gonna get one some stage

If its the outer seal then new bearings are required.
You need a 20tonne press plus plates and may also need an oxy to expand race.

have been told it probly the innner seals which are straight forward

Get someone to go through it with you while you do it youself.. that way you should be set to do it next time..
