Ifs hilux convertion

Post by GMH.TT8 »

Im new member to this site but been looking around on it for as long as i can remember so thought its time to become a member.

Anyway a quick one but long one my bussiness partner has a 03 hilux turbo diesel. He is wanting to run 35's to come out with some of the bigger truck's eg cruisers patrols. But will not part with the beloved hilux. My thoughts are to bend over one a cop it as they say and covert the lux to a leaf front end. he is in two minds weather to play around with the ifs my argument is you can throw alot of money and time at the ifs and have problems breaking things and maybe never be happy with it because my thoughts are they just were not meant to be big.

So wat are your thoughts and info ppl to speak to pro's and con's of both ect any help would be great and put this constant arguing at work at rest.

Having run both an IFS on 35s and then a sassed IFS , it really depends on the type of stuff he wants to tackle. 35s and dual locked driven within the IFS limits is quite capable and would be enough to satisfy most people.

Clearly need a solid front and lockers, get him onto locktup4x4.com they have all the gear for the conversion and at very good prices.

Also read booflux build thread in members section that will give you an idea on how serious IFS lux's can be but how much better they are solid axle!

I agree, with what you have been driving (hard) you will want a tougher front end.
