Ok guys here's a query, been fairly busy lately with my toy, and have a few updates. I p!ssed off the water to air intercooler cause to be honest i wasn't real happy with the performance of it. Putting in a custom bonnet mount air to air setup with an ARE scoop. I have been informed of late that when our big diesels are revving hard the standard fuel pump can't keep up with the amount of juice the big girl wants to use so I have been researching into some inline Holley pumps to keep her happy at full noise while she's hummin along. Any idea's on which one would be a good choice to do so?

Cheers for that i was leaning towards a holley red simply becase that was the one i have heard being used most. now my next question is do i take the original pump off?

only thing that there was some discussion on is the effect of the extra pressure on the pump. the extra pressure can change the injection timing.
you could always put a bypass fuel regulator on (holey make one) so at low throttle and low revs the fuel pressure doesn't go to high. ie it keeps the fuel pressure steady over the rev range.
no idea what you mean by original pump. there is no lift pumps on nissan diesels.

Yes I realise that tweak'e I had a umm slight brain fart moment there. bypass fuel regulator ay, sounds good will have to look into that

I have found carter not the best. had 2 fail and warranty is ok, No rebuild parts available in australia. I keep wearing out the rotor/vane plastic keyway and they wont sell me this single item. When they work they really work well. I found vibration to be the killer. spent a whole long weekend driving around the high country with a drum on the roof and a fuel line gravity fed in to the motor.
THe replacement lasted about a month.
I have one here for sale cheap if you want. I'd go holley, parts a re available. I run a procomp off ebay, sucks the odd bit of air and motor isnt sealed but vibrations doesnt affect it. Last one wore out from elect corrosion and not pump/seal failure.
Ill prob end up with genuine holley black and carry a spare rebuild kit

its flow is to low, you need double that and 5 bar pressure is way to high, try about 10% of that.
I run a Walbro pump on mine, its non turbo but the improvement is definately noticable. With the system under pressure I found a couple of small leaks that would of been drawing in air previously. It pumps 6 psi and will still flow if power is lost to it. As someone else said there is heaps of info on the Patrol forum, that where I researched. Cost me about $130 from memory

the holley red will drive you insane with the noise it makes, especially as your supposed to mount them lower than tank, so mines just behind drivers seat, on the lowest point of the chassis.
apparently the carters are much quieter.
the holley did however solve my issue of flat spotting uphills, which is the only reason i havnt got rid of the noisy bastard thing yet.
