Can I drive my sierra with no oil in the front axle housing?

Post by GRPABT1 »

Hey guys/girls, the seals in my front diff/axle housing are stuffed  and the oil pours out over the course of a week and I don't have the money to fix it just yet so I was wondering can I drive it safely so long as I stay in 2wd with the hubs unlocked? :?:

As redzook says, but dont leave it without oil for a while or youre remaining seals will go dry.

and youll be inviting it to corrode as well... maybe give it a little oil and a few mins in 4wd to just cover everything in oil now and then?

you could do as suggested above, or fix it yourself for about $20. the seals wont cost much if you install yourself.
