If I could afford the $990 ransom sum for each corner I would have a set of Red Label Krawlers on my rig.
Until the production of the Sticky Irok, I would have to admit that these are the best rock tyre ever - despite my love for Maxxix Creepies/Treps. I have seen them in action in rock crawling comps and they are brilliant. In dirt to rock transitions I don't think there is a better tyre for grip(again apart from the sticky Irok). Their grip in loose dirt and mud are excellent too.
This video shows how much better they perform in dirt/mud to rock transitions than other tyres.
In the U.S the 35 inch Krawlers are $30 cheaper than 35 inch Creepys but over here the 35 inch Krawlers are $190 more than the creepys.

I've run lots and lots of different tires. By far my favorite is the Red Label. I run them on both my rigs. I've gotten good wear out of them for a sticky. But they are suppose to be even better once I have worn half the tread down. All my tire experience is in the big rocks and dirt, not much mud. For me a close 2nd is the SS SX.

thats insane!! looks like the 2nd rig is running like 40psi compared to the 1st buggy who walks it in comparison

Usally run 10psi front, 8psi rear. They drive great on the road, so I like the fact I can happily drive on them out to LCMP etc, then have such a good performing tyre offroad when out there.
Sidewalls/puncture resistance might be one issue with them but, mine have a fair few repairs from when the original owner competed in the outback challange. But am sure they'd be better then most mud other radial mud terrains.
Type Twisty FJ40 on youtube and there will be some vids of them in action.

Unfortunatly they are an expensive tyre in Aus and this is the only reason you do not see more people using them. You can buy 4 Comp Spec treps for the price of 2 of these
I would have 39.5" Red labels in a heart beat if they were more reasonably priced. Last time I inquired they were $990 each. If they were closer to $600 I would get them...and so would many more people I would imagine.
But as RUFF said, a complete set of 40" Sticky Creepies or Treps can be had for the price of 2 Krawlers.
Whats the reason for them being so expensive in Oz? Is it BFG setting the price? or something else? As Sim mentioned, looking at US prices they are pretty close to the Maxxis Creeps/Treps.
all boils down to those three little letters.....BFG. all their tyres, i think, are overpriced. they could pump out the numbers if they only made their product semi affordable.

tony what do you mean y modified? grooved? how did you find the blues? i would've thought all the buggies ran red's?

No one in Oz had Red labels back then, Samuel. And yes I believe RUFF's blue labels had custom siping courtesy of an angle grinder and a few hrs work.

No one in Oz had Red labels back then, Samuel. And yes I believe RUFF's blue labels had custom siping courtesy of an angle grinder and a few hrs work.
Never touched with an AG. All done by hand with a stanley knife
They were also well baited with a custom made softening solution. Quite often applied between stages It seamed to work well and made for awsome smoke

I am guessing who ever is importing them is adding on $$$ as I have heard that some stores are selling them at cost price because they add more on they can't sell them.

Have to agree - have run both Blue and Red label. Red label worth the money - both appear to perform better when 30% or more worn down, bag and grip much better even though the cutting edges are rounded by this time.
x2 and from the couple of trips that i've used them absolutely loved them cant wait until i can actually wear them in properly and see how they perform. Would definitely buy them again.

Did you ever actually use these?
There was 4 pretty good ones and 3 pretty bad ones.
Sam used them for a bit, i never competed with them, but have driven on them.
