Crush Tube Question

Hi All,

Perhaps a stupid question...

I am going to have a go at making my own bars over the Christmas break, also putting in recovery points.

I know the idea of crush tubes, but wondering how you 'install' one to a place where it never existed.

To put a crush tube into the chassis, do you just drill through the chassis, then weld a tube in there?


Is it legal to do it?

Yes on the drilling of a hole, inserting tube then welding.

Legal, don't know so won't give an opinion.

thats all i did

you need to do it to get engineered so i asume it legal
im pretty sure i have seen a rta example

as far as i'm aware, welding to your chassis has to be xray certified etc.
