Installing IFS leafs

HEY guys,
started installing my IFS leafs in my Hilux this afternoon and as i went to put the them in i noticed they have a different type of bushes in the front.

They are 2002 model leafs. i tried to hammer them out but they wouldnt come out. And because you cant use just any bolt in the front like you can the rear i need to get them out.

Anyone no how to get them out?

Also has anyone installed IFS leafs without moving your rear shackle mounts.

maybe burn them out? use a press? as for moving the mounts, either use big arse shackles or move them.

i just ground mine back flush takes 5 min

And you will need longer shackles when retaining original position

My bolts wont fit threw the bushes, they have a metal part in the middle.
so grinding them flush wont help.

i think ill have to just drill them out or something simular.

They are an absolute prick to get out. I ended up drilling around the outside of the sleeve and hammering the fark out of it.

Bush part number to suit IFS and original pin is Kelpro 27014K.

Your good, very good haha. Exact answer I was looking for. Where did u get the bushes from? TJM?..

I was thinking If I was able to remove the metal part out of them I could just use the old ones, I'm guessing it's not worth it.

Repco, Bursons.. or similar.

The rubber is bonded to the sleeve. So its all gotta come out.

No worries. :D

Ok well i finally got My IFS leafs in today, took wayyyy too long.
Was a mission to get the old bushes out, snapped 3 drill bits.
Ended up burning what was left out with an oxy... not fun

Heres some pics.. Not perfect shackle angle but will do for now

There is a 200kg tray yet to go on aswell..

Ive been told that the leaf springs should sit basicly flat so ive got heaps of down travel and a small amount down travel and also to keep the centre of gravity low..

But i am now back to pretty much stock height and i am getting 36 ET2's soon and will more than likely need a bit more height to help clear them,
how is this achieved in my situation? thanks, HTH

Shackle angle looks good how it sits now, but may go to shit when you put the tray back on. I would add a more arched leaf to the pack to lift it a little and improve the shackle angle. You also could try blocks and a antiwrap bar.

I run 37" 's with only a 20mm body lift. Keep it low. I would go a anti wrap bar with long shackles like that. I won't limit flex but it will stop ya braking ya drive line.

when u add the weight i can see those springs flattening and allow the shackle to go strait up against your chassis.

i have 190mm shackles and i had to move the mounts back about 30mm to make it not do what i mentioned above and added 2'' lift blocks to get the height back but 4runners are heavier so you might be right.

Anyone got a picture of a working anti wrap bar set up?
why do i need them because of the longer shackles?
