The "on top of the bullbar" wouldn't be real legal either.

For competition (rally) car's etc it matters quite a bit.
Unsure how it relates to multi-element lights like they have these days.

Funny, I was sure they had to be in pairs. Don't ask me to prove it though. It's just one of those things I read somewhere some time.phippsy wrote:the fine might have been more relating to the ones up top, I got a warning years ago for having lights on a roof rack.
Doesn't have to be an even amount, saw in a rule book that if you have one it must be centrally mounted and so on
This is not legal advice.

Qld is "in pairs and no more than six" shining a white light etc etc.
I can dig it up if someone wants proof. It's on the Qld Transport website.
You can get away with soem stuff if for "off road" - but you would have to show it's disabled. Covers might do it - not sure. Would depend on the mood of the copper too. You might have to sort it later. I've had a radar detector offence pulled after I wrote a letter explaing the cop was an idiot and charged me with insufficient evidence.

Interesting read, QLD only, would need to investigate further, but mentions 2 pair auxillary allowed and no height restriction
