Hey when im sitting on 80km/h my RPM's read 3000 and 100km/h reads 4000
Is this to high for a 91 vitara 1.6L Carby? Its also an Auto if that helps.. My mate said that it sounds a little too high, but hes not sure cause he dosnt know much about the vitara's.
If its to high, what are the possible problems?
regards, shane

RPM's to high?
lol bit weird someone saying theyre revving too high =) haha
my sierra with 1600 EFI in it, 31's and 5.14 tcase does 2400rpm at 80 in 5th and about 3400ish for 100km/hr which i find just nice. Keep in mind 5th was designed more as an overdrive in early zuks, nothing wrong with grabbing 4th to get up a hill =) haha
Im sure an expert on vitara gearing will chime in with stock RPM rates - but if you're driving bog stock vitara it does sound a little high to me.

The worst thing about censorship is ███████.
I get 3700rpm calculated for a stock auto carby vitara @ 100.
I'm aware there's some converter slip on the highway, but you do seem to be revving a bit harder than normal.
Checked the level/condition of the auto fluid? How quickly does it shift into reverse after you've moved the lever?
The auto might need a freshen up.
Steve.
