hi all ive been on here for a while but i havent posted on here fo ages. im just wondering does anyone do a conversion kit for a vq30det into a rb30 5spd gq. what do people think of this. i only want to do it as i havent seen one done yet.

You may find that the vg30 runs the rb box standard

If i remember correctly that engine came out of the 300zx which has the
beefed up rb box

Its not beefed up, its actually the same box in 2wd form, people always say how weak they are, I've broken about 5 and its not easy, a good fresh one will take the power quite well, I've covered it a few times on here.

Yeah but with mix and match parts you can bolt a VG and an RB to Patrol auto.
93 Nissan Pathfinder / Terrano Turboed VH45, GQ Trans and T-case, coil overs, hydraulic winch and fair bit of other stuff. (Currently a pile of parts in the workshop)

ive heard about that but i wanna keep mine manual. the only thing that ive been told about the vg30 is all the electrical components therefore i am looking towards the vq30det has anyone done it yet that anyone knows of.

would be good to see a few pics.

rb, vg and vq are all different bellhousing patterns. if it wasn't so easy to get power out of an rb, i'd go for the vq.

i thought rb turbo but then its been done by a few alredy a vq hasnt been done as of yet thats why im leaning towards that. were would i get an adapter plate made in perth. does any one know of any were

the rb will be a heap cheaper to do, i'd love to see a vq done but it won't be cheap.
