Patrol Diff Ratio's

Post by YSO81G »

Hi Lads,
Interested to find out what the highest standard diff ratio you can get in a Patrol with disc brakes. I wanna chuck em in a Hilux runnin 35's. Ratio 4.8:1 would be good but unsure if Patrol's run that high of a ratio.
Cheers!

you could get a 4.8 patrol rear diff , they have the handbrake at the wheels , not at the transfer case

5.29 I have heard is available too??

By 4.8 Patrol, I think he means the big petrol motored ones, not the gearing.

Also the diff ratio in the 4.8 will likely be in the 3.x range.

why 4.8 diffs they only difference is the bigger brakes...

Just depends on what gu diffs you can get at the time...

ive seen 3l gu diffs so you get the 4.3 ratio for about $1800 complete then sell off the 4.3 for about $700 - $800 get some coin back then buy 4.8 personally i would see if the 4.6 suffice as they are genuine gears..

Patrol Diff Ratio's

Post by YSO81G »

Was just gunna buy 4.88 or 5.29 ratios for me hilux diffs.
Just tryin to "kill a few birds with one stone"!
1. Higher ratio diffs to suit me 35's.
2. Disc brakes in rear.
3. Wider track (If much wider than IFS Hilux diffs)
The cheaper the better obviously.
What more ideas we got?
