Upgrading brakes on 92 80 series

Post by rowenb »

Does anyone know if late model brakes will bolt straight onto my 92 model? Already run 16's. Hoping i can use all the gear from a late 80 or even an early 100 no ABS and slap it on.

From what I gather its just a bolt on affair. I read something on 4wda forum on this a while back....

yep everything is straight bolt on. all you need to get is front calipers and backing plate and rear backing plate. rear calipers are the same. then you just need to get new front and rear rotors new handbrake shoes, 105 or 100 series front pads. just need to leave the anti vibration shims out until the pads wear down. other wise that about it.

db1365 is the bendix part number for the front 105 pads.

You need the 80 series gear as the 100 series are different dimensions/spacings/calipers.

At the same time, may aswell go for DBA slotted rotors and braided lines if you can afford the dollars :D
Cheers,
Dan.
