my rear diff is buggerd, what diffs will fit ?

Put a wanted ad up and no doubt someone will have a second hand centre or a complete 40 series housing for you. Is it a full floater? If so then 40, 60 and 75 series centres are all interchangeable. Tailshaft flange bolt patterns do vary so you might want to check this.

I think my rear diff{ HJ47] is just about finished also .Buy looking I cant see any difference between the front and rear diff centers [in the vehicle]of my HJ47 or the front and rear diffs centers of my farm ute fj45 .Are the front and rear diff centers interchangable ?

If you're going for a complete diff housing, try and get a full floater. Much better setup, if you ever break something in the rear you can just pull the axles and tailshaft and drive home on the front diff, not so with semi floating.
