Threebond Engine Conditioner
Hi all
Thought i'd try my luck here!
My boss' mechanic is gonna to a flush of some sort, and is going to be using
1 or 2 cans of Threebond Engine Conditioner, on his 2005 GU ZD30 Auto (completely stock)
Can anyone tell me anything about this?
Reason he's doing it is to get better fuel economy and performance, currently getting 20-21L/100km (on standard road tyres),
as i get closer to 11-12/100 in my GUII ZD30 Manual (raised with 285/75 muds), He'd like to try it.
He's had the truck under 12 mths and has had all the oils changed and service regularly.
Will the above product help?
Thanks in Advanced
Pep

It depends on the service history as to whether it needs a proper flush. I use an engine oil flush on every service with my car, but my engine is 20 years old and has done 230,000km.
Generally the flush removes any sludge buildup, but there are companies like CEM that have guaranteed products, that have been tried and tested, and seem to do what they say.
At the end of the day though, 20L/100km on a ZD30 is a bit scary. Is your boss's mechanic at a proper service centre, or somewhere like Cletus' Kwik Fix?

Are they diesel/Jap or ZD30 specialists though?Pep wrote:No there a mechanical workshop that service and repair things like
Ferraris, Lotus and the like, he knows the apprentice.
Anyway it's getting done today, time will tell.

Just like i wouldn't take my Ferrari to my local Nissan dealer, i probably wouldn't take my Patrol to a Ferrari dealer either.
(I service the Ferrari myself BTW).

I'd be weary on using any untried flush in one of those things...
I'd be taking a drive to another workshop from where he has been using and getting a tune done there.
Your not siphoning fuel out of it when he is not looking are you? He doesnt have a hole in the hose between main and sub tanks and losing it when transferring is he?
