Sadly Negotiations with the venue have stalled......

Looks like more disappointment, but we will be on the phones again tomorrow......

Finding a venue that is going to be suitable for everyone and all the different types of events is proving quiet difficult.
Lots of idea's and leads, but they all seem to turn bad in the 11th hour.

Anyway, as hard as this is, it looks like its back to the drawing board.

If we dont get something signed up shortly, we will have little choice but to push the date back..........will make that call shortly.

What a shame, the last one was in 2007

Post by mog80 »

What a shame, the last one was in 2007 hosted by the On All 4's 4wd Club. It is looking like there will not be another one until 2011 if we are lucky. I am sure other Clubs can asist Harb to make this happen in 2010. It just can't be left to a few people.

this is the latest update from harb, taken from the DU4X4 forum.

To sum it up, we have been battling to find a suitable site that covers all bases...... distance from Sydney, Amenities , suitability for the event , and lastly but probably most important the site hire fee's.........
We have had a number of sites fall through, due to problems such as traffic considerations etc.... what a laugh, we could only hope we have that many turn up......... but these are the problems we have faced.
It is looking like we have finally found a site that will have us, and all the other boxes are ticked as well.
Our delegate well meet with them this coming tuesday (including Greg Redfern) to finalise the deal, and after that the rest of the planing can get under way.
It has been much more difficult to organise the correct site that we expected.
It would seem anything to do with Auto/4wd/Motorsport events are becoming very difficult to get going...... many obstacles including local council etc....
I suspect this is why it is so hard to get anyone to take on the organising of these jamboree's.
Anyway it looks like we are going to move forward...... will have more info on tuesday night after our meeting.

All the latest is on the 4wd assc forum.........

In a nut shell, We have put forward a proposal to run J10 at The Australian National Field Day site near Orange.
We took a delegate of Club members and Assc reps out there for an inspection, and it fills all the boxes.
The site owners are keen, but it has to do to a Meeting with all of there players, and then away we go..... Its looking very good, but if this site falls through we will no longer have time left to organise another site, so J10 will be abandoned ..........

But no need for sad faces yet..... things are looking good at this point :)

Will know more in the next week or so

For more info, log into the Assc Website

cheers for now

No worries,
Hopefully we are on a winner this time.
Will post back here and the other forums as soon as we sign on.
Luckily this venue is very well setup, so a lot of the work is already done which is a great help.
Anyway, hope to be back and report good news shortly :)
