Limiting straps, who makes them in Australia?

Post by Yom »

Hi,

Anyone know where to get suspension limiting straps locally? I have thought about going to wreckers and cutting some seatbelts and then tying them to chassis and around tube but i think thats a bit dodgey and depending on price I think I might do it properly haha.

Having some nasty issues with too much articulation with the front axle in the wrangler. Don't really want to go for shorter shocks.

Wizard performance has a selection of them on the shelf, they are on the Gold Coast but freight stuff as well. Also the guy down there seems to knows what he is on about so he could help you with selecting the right ones.

Yep.

Having issues with front driveshaft molesting the transmission (big arse chrysler 5spd auto). Limiting straps are cheaper than a smaller diameter driveshaft. Added bonus will be the shocks won't be bottoming out. Secondary bonus is less wear and tear on the bushes which all look very stressed with the angles this thing can achieve. The ball joints on the drag link probably aren't going to be too pleased with the angles over time either. Plus having epic articulation in the front is not making a very balanced vehicle, my initial impression is that the front end is going to compensate for the rear end so basically a backwards patrol.

Wizard hey. I will know what lengths I need once I get around to measuring up.

I would buy them from the US.
Stuff arrives before it would have been even packaged in AUS and its cheaper. Stuff happens in the US

Kartek, mastercraft, poly performance, ballistic fab, etc

These would be my choice:

they stretch 1" for every 12" so run 2 or 3 if you want max travel.
