Fitting a LT95 gearbox to a LT230 TC
G'day all,
Does anyone know if it is possible to fit a LT95 (gearbox part only, cut the transfercase part off) to aLT230? mainshaft is biggest problem I guess?
What about fitting the LT95 first gear into a R380 or LT77? possible or is it way too different??

Whats a lt94 first?? 4:1?
Whats a R380 first??
This BW T18 gearbox that I have adapted to the LT95 transfer has a first gear of almost 7:1 and is direct drive in 4th. Reverse is about 7.3:1. When I made this setup I got two of them done and have only used 1 of them. Ill sell you the adapted transfer case components if you want for what it cost me (say $500) - this is the housing and the main shaft.
To set this up you need the guts of an LT95 transfer and a BWt18 2wd manual box (I bought one for $100 from trading post). You then need to adapt the gearbox to whatever motor yo are running. To adapt it to a rover 3.5 is just a very simple 6mm adapter plate and put the ford clutch onto the rover flywheel.
This would give you 7x3.3x4.8 = 110:1 reduction.
You will be able to bust parts while ideling.
I can take some pics of this setup if you want cause the rig that this is in is pulled apart ATM. See the 1/2 tube buggy buildup.

That shows the case, its just cut from the box, once all together it is neat and very compact. A good driveline for a short vehicle. It also has great offroad 6.7x3.3x4.88 = 107.897:1 (give or take) which is pretty good, if you got the hiace 5.29s and go with sams 7:1 in first you get:
7x3.3x5.29 = 122.199:1 CRAZY
7x3.3x5.29 = 122.199:1 CRAZY
hands and mums dont count!!!
