Thinking of putting a turbo on 98 GQ Na 4.2 diesel

Hi everyone, I'm new on here, I have a 98 Gq 4.2 diesel ute. thinging of putting a turbo on it to get a little more torque, will this engine handle 8 - 14psi? can i use the standard turbo set up off a GU 4.2 turbo disel? I don't want massive power just want a bit more torque and keep the reliability. any help would be good. engine has done 290kms, serviced every 5000kms blows no soot

do it !!!

just dont go mad with boost and get an egt guage to monitor egts and you should be fine

Yeah will be fine with low-moderate boost. They are strong engines. Like already stated, get an EGT gauge and keep an eye on things. I suggest getting it properly tuned by a someone who specialises in diesels.

gu turbo, manifold etc will bolt on. go for it. get a pro to tune it and u will be happy.

thanks guys, i guess i'll have to do it in the new year! anyone know where i can get or anyone have a gu turbo manifold ect for sale?
