Can anyone identify what this is on my Patrol? It looks like a hydraulic line terminating at the diff not plugged into anything on my Patrol. Ir runs back to near where the old gearbox was and terminates?
It was never plugged in from day one and has a but of dirt in the end which tell me it has been that way for a while before I bought it.
This is where it ends near the pumkin
The rubber hose runs into a steel one that runs along the chassis until it gets to:
Another rubber hose that terminates at the gearbox...
Any idea what it is?
Thanks in advance
Jimmy

What is this?
hi mate, you will probably find that that is the diff breather hose??? it should be connected to the top of the pumpkin and you may find that you got the steel tubes mixed up. Both the diffs and the gear box have a breather that goes to the chassis and then to a steel tube to a high point (sorry cant remember where they terminate, but it is forward) the common upgrade it to extend them and set them high in the engine bay. Gotta plug it back in mate, you cant go around like that.
95%m sure that is what it is?? look on the top of the rear pumpkin for where is has come off or broken off... look at the front diff and you will find exactly the same going there and may still be in place for your reference..
Good luck

Sorry, had another look at the pic. that is your front diff. it looks like the boss is still in the hose and this should screw into the top of the pumpkin. have a look at the rear diff.

Yep, As "Lookin - for - Mud" said, front diff breather in my opinion, if you look at the rear it should go from the diff pumpkin straight up into the chassis tube. the front runs across the diff from the pumpkin to the centre of the diff housing then up into the engine bay. Definately put it back in.
