if its on road with the hubs locked in then unlock them and go offroad.

they are not meant to be locked in onroad in a part time 4wd anyway

Sorry for the late reply. Its a 93 lwb vit estate. Im pretty sure its the cv's as they're leaking oil. Is it hard to swap a new one in at home?
And is this all i need, like just the joint?

If your leaking oil its the axle seals. if the cv's are stuffed you'll hear clicking noises. Check diff oil level. If it's leaking at hubs there's prob no oil in it. Hence groaning

Solution. Replace seals and top up oil.
