Patrol for Towing and city use

Post by sydneyboy1951 »

At the risk of being flamed I am looking at a Patrol for a specific purpose.

I want a vehicle to tow a car trailer which will weigh about 2000kgs when loaded for trips to Qld and Vic, about 6-7 per year, about 2K round trip . In addition it will also have to serve as a daily driver, probably about 100ks per day, consumption not a real problem as is all business use. I don't envisage any serious off road use.

It would seem that 4.2 either petrol, dual or diesel is the way to go but I would prefer auto. My budget is $10k max

Suggestions and advice please

Spend a bit more and you could get a 4.5 GU on duel fuel. Set the tappets regularly and they are an OK workhorse, not a rocket ship.
