TUFF TRUCK ticket prices

Post by bennybigballs »

whats the go with the exorbodant price tag for entry this coming year did the see how popular it has become and decided that it was necessary to charge an extra 35 bucks  whats going to be there to warrant the extra dough i mean lets say they limit the tickets to the approx 7000 peops we got last year thats an extra $ 245 000 as the viewers of tuff truck what are we getting extra for the approximate 245 000 bucks extra that they will make out of us as a whole :?:

I have never been to a tuff truck event so my comments are generic rather than specific.
Firstly Pete has taken over this event as a business in order to ensure it's longevity and continual growth. In order to grow the event it needs capital. Capital funds do not grow on trees and therefore as a business man you look to income from the business in order to build it.
When you run an event with a 7000 strong attendance i can assure you that $245,000 doesn't go far.
I'm not making suggestions or assumptions here but all the complaints over previous years that i have read have been issue that will cost money to rectify. To look at growing the event these issues would need to be dealt with and therefor have money spent.
I guess an optimistic person will look at the price increase and presume the event is going to be better.
A pessimistic person will complain about the price increase with out any rationale
A realist will attend the event as they normally would and make and educated judgement after the fact.

Good luck to Pete. The vision is definitely looking forward.

There was a limited run of 2000 weekend camping passes for sale online only, $95 each, I think a price rise like that is a bit much but as said the extra money will be going back to the event, more security is definately needed after last year, I think Pete has added extra seating/grandstand type stuff or something. Pete is keen to keep the idiot factor to a minimum.
I wasnt too keen to spend 100bucks to go but after my bro in law bought a tik, now I have to go, so ill be forking out for it.
Apparently, the mud will be staying, which I think is a good thing, and theres talk of an extra stage being added, Im not sure about the mystery stage though.
Ive been to the last 3 TTCs and Ive had a good time, apart from the idiots blowing up gas cylinders at insane times of the night/morning, Ive had no probs.

DRS money can't buy you enough bling you need for your 40 :finger:

Ruffy pretty much nailed it in on the head with what he said.

A few things we knew we needed for TT10 was either
1 More security or
2 Police

I know what i would prefer to have on site, and as you (hopefully) can imagine is having police there isn't cheap. For those wanting to go to watch the event and appreciate the driving, and not want to be harrassed by some drunk moron who struggles to string a few meaningful words together, i'm guessing they aren't overly worried about forking out an extra 35 for the weekend.

And last year, at the Saturday night, is wasn't a great feeling not knowing which direction the next bottle was coming from. So knowing there will be Police there makes it easier to do our (management) job.

The extra coin is also going to keeping this great event running. What would you prefer to whine about? An extra 35 to watch or not having the event run at all?

Cheers Pricey.

My son competed last year so i did the volunteer help on friday & saturday. For ten hours each day & night i got to see a lot of the drunks & dickheads harrassing & intimidating the genuine people who had come to spectate a top class hard core 4wd event. We were up until 3.00 on sunday morning cleaning up the crap & garbage left lying around the site, especially the mud hole stage.Beer bottles & cans plus pre mixed drink bottles & cans made up about 90% of the garbage.

Like Pricey said, having the police presence there isn't cheap but if it goes some way to getting rid of the drunken idiot tossers & brings it back to being a family friendly event.By all means, have a drink & know when to stop & not when you face plant the dirt.Pay the extra money & maybe you will really enjoy Tuff Truck 2010.

Another thing to think about people is the fact that for the past five years there has only been a $5 increase to weekend entry fees.

if u dont like the prices dont go, its that easy and leaves more tickets for the people who wanna go and undestand the reason for the price rise.

ok ive been to my fair share of tuff trucks ....

the security has had its problems year in year out

you get what you pay for...

im more than happy with the ticket price for this year for the police attendence

anyone thats there to nick fuel or peoples stuff should suffer the consequences

hopefully those shitbags that were going just to see what they could take wont be there due to the price tag and the police presence

 well done pete!

I fail to see why this needed another thread.
