VITARA THREAD!

Post by shane1992 »

Hey, this is my stock 1991Auto Suzuki Vitara JLX SWB , I bought her for $1500 and she is my first car, I have a big wish list for her and hopefully I can have a interesting little build up of body work and modifications. I've found a few rust holes on her which is annoying but have fixed all of them that I know of :S. Anyways hope you enjoy.

Found a dirty rust hole just above the bottom door hinge on the drivers side :S 2 photos of how it turned out. Really wish I took a photo of the actual rust hole but to show how well it turned out! Ohwell I found another one on the other side :) So i'll be sure to take a photo of it :)

The end result, think I done a few more coats of paint but :S

This is a photo of me on a surf trip stuck in the mud the bottom of the cars frame was sitting on dirt including half of my dif buried in dirt, yes I am a dick head haha. Anyways, with no recovery gear or phone reception, I spent an hour and a half finding planks of wood and rocks to support my car jack, yes I had to jack my car up about 1ft to put lots and lots of rocks and tree branches etc under the wheel, I eventually got out :S was very fun but. As you can see in the photo, she got pretty far! :).

These are the just cruizin' lift blocks (2"inch), Thanks mate!

We had a hard time lining the bolts back up evenly to allow us to screw the female bolts in, We tried all sorts of crazy shit, 6 hours later we had all bolts screwed in.

The before and after photos, Have not fixed up the front and rear bumper yet, going to remove them when I put the coil spacers in and the 31" wheels and get some bar work made up.

My coil spacers arrived today (2inch), there not permanent, I just got them until I can afford a proper suspension lift. Coil spacers were done by the boys at Extreme Limits Off Road, check there site out http://www.extremelimitsoffroad.com.au/index.htm

My mate Jason's Simex Centipede 31x10.5R15, they were hardly even used because he got bigger tires, All what I got to get to have them on my vitara is some wheels, Looking at getting some Black Sunraysias 15x7 :)

Look at the amount of tread on them still!!!

Today the bottom hose on my radiator split open :( But on the good side, my winch I got off ebay for $170 came in the mail, I don't plan on having to use it :). Yous probably wont be seeing any photos of the winch actually fitted to the Vitara for awhile, I have so much stuff happening at them moment, getting tires fitted, installing 2" coil spacers, Getting front metal winch bar made up, with work full-time, it's a slow process.
Stay tuned for more updates to this thread :)

Merry Christmas! Today I fitted my 31x10.5R15 Simex tires on, real happy with the way they look, they were a tight fit had to hammer some of the guards back to stop it from rubbing.

Jason's new Camper Trailer :)

Went through this track a couple of times that lead to a wave, pretty fun! The tires made a big difference compared to the stock tires :)

Today I put my coil spacers in, They are not permanent just until I save enough money for a full proper kit, I was stoked with the difference it made, but these photos just don't do it justice!!
