By process of elimination ive worked out my ac compressore has run bearings - squeekying and doesnt spin smoothly anymore.
Does any one know if they can be replaced on the vehicle? to avoid having to go and have ther gas removed and then re gassed?

bugger, in my mind i wrote ln106 3L diesel 1989. I hate it when people dont give enough info
The actual AC compressor has the rough bearing, the small guide wheel is ok, but i will replace it too as its not perfectly smooth (i have looked at and can replace this one). pulley tensioner down the bottom is fine.
From the look I had at it, I couldnt see an easy way to pull the front end off it to get at a bearing.

Ive done the diesels in place lots of times but its been a few years so i cant run you right through the procedure. But it is defianatly possible.
Undo the nut on the front and the clutch plate will come off. Then there is a circlip holding the pully on. Once you get the pully off you will find the bearing is peened in. Just press the bearing out. I usually use a hammer and socket it really doesnt take much to get them out. Then go to a bearing place(not Toyota) and get a replacement bearing. Re-fit it and use a centre punch to peen it back in.
