I know a similar style of event was run at Emu Creek quite a few years ago. It was run in a team format(one car on the track from each team at a time)over 9hr.

From memory there weren't many car running at the end.

I am just wondering if you should run a shorter event first. .... maybe 4hr

We talked about that and we decided against softening it up. I agree most won't be running at the end. Those who do finish will deserve all the attention they get as being the best offroaders in Australia.

We can then all talk about our day over a camp fire at the end of the day. Well those who aren't still doing recoveries in the bush.

Hi Stika,

I was in a team that did that 9hr Emu Creek Enduro. I thought there was quite a few cars still running at the end, all of our team was from memory. Cars have progressed alot since those days also... But yes if they make the track too hard and its timed there will be breakages that will put cars out, ten hours is a long time to keep up full concentration.

Maybe the idea would be too make it driveable for the sort of cars you want to enter. I have never been to the park so can't comment on the tracks and how hard they are.

Anyway good luck with it guys, I know we all had a fantastic time doing the 9hr Emu Creek. (Ah memories there was bush fires at the same time very interesting)

This event will be the 10 hours as the cars that are well prepared will finish and those who drive smart will come out on top. The V8's have a long race as do most other motors sports. This will be the 4wd's.
The business plan if supported by the cars entering will see this event grow with the ability to try and attract some different industry sponsors. I spoke with a CFO of one of Aussie largest companies and the reason they won't sponsor 4wds is because of the look of the vehicles and the lack of a complete series. (A clean and tidy car with straight pannels to start with is what we want. Sponsors don't want to put their names on a car that doesn't reflect their image.)

I will need a photo of all cars that are competing. Front, back, roof and both sides.
I will be grading the cars when sourcing sponsors. Our marketing manager will be back late next week and the information will begin to be put up on our website.

Cars that already have sponsors please let us know as we will promote them with our marketing for the comp.

Photo's can be sent to brenden@tfmconsulting.com.au

Just some questions,
those larger rocks and boulders will the winch comp cars be made to drive them? or is that one of the ares where there will be alternative winch hills?
And may you please post some photos of the winch hill areas and if possible point out in the photos if they will be driven by all vehicles or is it a point in the race where there are different routes.

And wil the event be run during the day with no night driving.

Finally apart from the obvious its a cruiser it will break at the start line jokes, honeslty how do you think i would fair with my 75 on 80 series chasis, front and rear lockers, 4 inch coils, 2 inch body, 36 trekkers and a air free spooled widened drum high mount winch?
cheers mosko

Back to the Patrol plans. I hope I get enough volunteers so I can enter myself.

There is going to be a lot of rock stacking by the pre runners over the next few months however you do have to drive/winch up this step up which I think you need a good approach angle for. No-one has driven it yet but we will find out in the following months.

The top of this is very slippery. Michael who was taking the photo had a chuckle as I am came extremely close to taking a swim. It is about a foot deep at the moment.

Well I started the rock stacking, I threw a big rock in and nearly fell in. It made a big splash and didn't hit the bottom that I could hear. I make it at about a 3 foot ledge but as you say people will rock stack until they can make it.

I will be building my Patrol with good approach angle in mind so it can climb near vertical.

I have noticed that since I posted the pics up not many people are talking. Does the track seem to hard or something?

I myself wont have the time to make new panels for my buggy in time for the event and the money spent on doing that i would be behind after every event. If i'am going to go crashing over rocks in a race the last thing i want to worry about is panels.. But i still like the ideas for the comp and the terrain looks sweet.

So do you have a business to promote? If so then now is the time to put a sticker on otherwise in my opinion don't worry about new panels, just don't worry if Brenden doesn't put your name down to try and get sponsorship.

If not I would gladly put a Suspension Stuff sticker on a beat up rig. We did find it difficult to find a straight panel in Michaels 11 Evil but the more dings the better in my book.

I agree with the above unless someone has a lot of money to waste then trucks are going to look beat up. Unlike a lot of other motorsport the terrain means damage.
