Whats the go with Unimog axles, for the extra diff clearance why aren't more people driving on them...

What are they like and can they fit any axle tubes.
Also I have seen some jeeps running around with a chrome bar up the windscreen holding spotties up, I have been told that here in QLD they can only be that high on a Ute, and not that far forward, I am wanting to do the same thing.
Can anyone clarify on these rules at all...

they're a bigass axle, that can be a pain to fit without MAJOR work. then there's the $$$ aspect, but when you add up the cost of building a toy axle up, it ends up about the same
