Starter motor problem

Post by grizzlys_girl »

I have just got myself a 95 diesel rocky and have pulled the starter motor out and have found it won't turn. I am having trouble pulling the motor off. How do I go about doing this ? Thanks to all that can help me.

How do you mean it wont turn? The solenoid clicks when you turn the key, but the starter doesnt actually wind over? If so, it will be one of the copper L shaped contacts inside. Easy to replace, except it has been a while since I did one, and without a starter in front of me, I cant quite remember the correct sequence. Put it this way, its inside, connected to one of the large terminals on the side of the starter, with the large cable attached ot the outer terminal.
Sorry, thats as much help as I can be at the moment.
