hey all just broke my winch cable and looking at replacing it with plasma rope just wounding was is the pros and cons with rope and wire,i do know wire is heavey and if you get a fray well it bloody hurts i also is plasma high maintenance or is that all bull sh#T any help would be good

Sorta had the idea that plasma was better, i was told that it was really high maintenance but I haven't had anything to do with it. Also, how many metres would you get on a low mount. 9000lb Warn

It is higher maintenance than steel, however the beauty of it is that you can remove is and store it in a bag within 5 minutes, and then re-install it just as quick. I leave my rope off 99% of the time, and usually only fit it up when we're going away.

what sort of lengths does it come in, Ive got close to 50m of cable on my PTO and it aint looking as pretty as it once did?

The vic pol 4wd have switched to plasma, they give ther vehicles a beating and use the winches weekly. No worries about cross winding it, no sharp bits of cable sticking out
