Can anyone tell me what size the centre bolt in the leaf springs is, as in the bolt that holds the leaves together ?

Depends on what brand etc the leaves are. I think its a 12mm or 14mm nut stock, but i have millions of sets of leaves lying round and its varies between each pack.

My rockcrawler leaves had somthing like a 13mm in it and the stock are about 12mm nut, but don't quote me on this :roll:

Got a 95 sierra hardtop. When ordering a OME suspension lift do I ask for one out for a SJ50? On redbook they call it a VX JX. Is rim offset a big deal? I was just going to get normal rims but allot of people seem to talk about offset allot.

ask for an SJ70. its listed in the OME application chart.

with the rear door locks of vitara's (actual locking mechanism) is this part the same between all the models? E.g soft top, hard top and Lwb or are they all different :?:

I've got a '95 maruti ute, in need of a new clutch.
It has a g16x engine (not sure if it's an A or B due to GTI head conversion). Runs a 5speed manual box.

Is there a way to tell which clutch is suitable before removing my current one?

- sierra clutch, g16b clutch, g16a clutch etc.

if its a sierra box, get a sierra clutch, if its a vit box get a vit cluch

It was originally a 1.0l (which i believe were all 4speed) so I assume it's a vitara box.
I'll suss out the appearance at the wreckers to double check.

scored a 1.6 with 5spd for $400 :armsup: a fith gear at last yay

But Im guessing 1.3 extractors wont fit a 1.6 litre 8v

Another silly question for the blue slip:
Mud Flaps, are they required on the rear of a SWB Hardtop 83 Sierra.

As for those Nissan Headlights, very keen to see what happens with that.

Other wise are their any H4 headlight (single lenses for hi/low) that are easy to install to the sierra.

Okay here is my stupid question, have searched and didn't find much.

I have an 89 sierra with the old dash with no way of telling what revs the old girl is doing. Is it possible to fit an instrument cluster from a later model sierra (one that can tell revs) to an 89? What is involved in the swap or is there an easier option to be able to tell the engine revs?

yes, mudflaps are needed. rule of thumb is if the axles are lower than the sill you will need flaps at all corners, but thats just how i get the vehicles i do legal. may be different from state to state.

just get a dash from the same model that had a tacho and bolt it in. the circuits are there.

If you designed a tri 4 link rear for a 35" tire what would the effects be if you ran a 31" for on road? Anything noticeable in the way it would handle?

Without seeing the design/geometry of the links that is very much a "how long is a piece of string" type question. Obviously the chagne in overall CG height would make it less liable to roll over, but beyond that there is now way to say certainly from here. There is no such thing as designing a link setup for a ## size tyre.
