Hi mario, that looks like a jmac hi steer. Someone may correct me if im wrong. There was another guy on here with the same set up & he said it had excellent road manners. I have the info somewhere ill & dig it up & post it. Have you thought about swapping to MQ or GQ leaf sprung swivel hubs. It maybe a cheaper option. Heres a link if you didnt already know. Cheers Loz.

Looks like the panhard mount has been raised too. Trying to get the arms geometry's back closer to std by the looks to reduce the 'one way' bump steer effect of a lifted rig.SLASH wrote:Hi mario, that looks like a jmac hi steer. Hi Wendle, i will be doing this conversion soon but with GQ leafy housings. Was wondering if you could answer a couple of questions, did you have any clearance issues with the chassis panhard mount with compression? I also run a xlink so im a bit worried i might have clearance issues with it also. When you reversed the tapers did you have a machine shop do this? I was told i had to run a bigger tie rod end than the stock nissan ones because when you reverse the taper the nut end of the tie rod will be a sloppy fit, if that all makes sense. Did you make your tie rod the same length as the stock rear one & did you run it with toe in or toe out? Cheers Loz.Wendle wrote:I built that very car, years ago. Any questions, just ask...Mario wrote:UNDERSTOOD !
The tie rod is moved forward and the draglink attaches to it.
DUH (yeah, I'm not very smart !
Thanks. What happened to the pics on the original post (the one on the bibles) ?Wendle wrote:I built that very car, years ago. Any questions, just ask...Mario wrote:UNDERSTOOD !

Didn't have any clearance issues, but I made a lower spring retainer that also padded out the bumpstop landing by about 50mm.SLASH wrote: Hi Wendle, i will be doing this conversion soon but with GQ leafy housings. I did have a machine shop reverse the tapers, they also machined up tapered inserts (tapered inside and out) out of cr-mo so that the standard tapers still fitted correctly.
Can't remember the length of the tie-rod, I think I cut down the one I was running behind the axle (38mm hollow bar or similar) and used it again. The big tie-rod end on the passenger side is way long, so there should be a bit of length to play with.
I used to run about 15mm tow out just measured with a tape (37" tyres).

They were originally attached directly to the site when we could do that, then that function was no longer so someone else linked them from their photobucket. I didn't realise they had gone again. I'll get them back in there soon...
Thanx heaps for the info mate. Much appreciated.
