Resetting Timing Belt Light - 99 Hilux

Post by Scooby WA »

Reading other posts on this subject there is mention of a rubber plug on the speedo and I know my previous vehicle (92 Surf) had this settup.
There is no sign of a rubber plug on my speedo, so I presume there is a different method of resetting. The Gregories Manual is no help. Can any one advise me on how to turn off the light?

Seem to remember 78/79 series owners having the same problem.
Try disconnecting the battery and reconnecting. The cars electrnics are reset when do this but I dont know if it will work for sure.
