Turbo

Post by projectmkduel »

I been researchin this topic flat out all day cos i am trying to get info on the std Mq sd33t Turbo (ta15-b) and apparently the most common swap is a gt25 or 28 turbo which is off the shelf equipment t3 flange is different to by the looks of things
The ta15-b turbo is only good to 3.7ltrs engine size so i think you may be out of luck but in my travels and research i found a schwitzer turbo on ebay $250
>>http://cgi.ebay.com.au/schwitzer-diesel ... 500wt_1182
this one is one of the best used in the 4.2 td conversions

Hope this helps

There's a feller on here who has just fitted a GT2876 to his SD33T:

A popular upgrade for the TD42's is the GT2860RS .64/.86.

flange is T3. Sd33T is a HT15-b and TD42 is HT18. supposed to be interchangeable, i know the exhaust outlet ( dump) is the same

GT2860RS with .60 comp and .64 exh actually :)
2876 is too big for the SD33T.

They are a T3 flange and you will need a T3 to T25-T flange adapter.
I highly recommend you face the exhaust manifold - both the surface that mates to the head and also the flange.

If you need any help with the bits and pieces required for the setup, drop me a PM.

HT15/18 turbos are ollldddddd. Money is better spent on a new BB turbo...
