Tough Dog shocks, not your average thread

Ok so i have some old tough dog adjustables, and bogged before you ask yes i did try searching!

I can vaguely remember upon purchasing my (i know poor decision) 2nd hand tough dog lift kit that there was a company in ringwood that rebuilt the 45mm bore adjustable shock. After a fun weekend of wheeling it appears that my inner shaft has unthreaded itself from the piston and i now have a shock in two halves.

seeing as how im an apprentice which is good cause for being a tight ass i was wondering if it was at all possible to rebuild them or is what i was told 3 years ago a load of bulldust and with great regret ill have to shell out for some new shocks :(

any help would be appreciated, not really after opinions of tough dog shocks, i know they leak , i bought them 3 years ago so im not interested in your view on them, just some useful information on my dilema!

mate i'm not 100% sure but i have never heard of it, pretty sure there throw away, there great shcoks but dear :(

thanks mate yea kinda found that out when i got round to ripping the shock off the car, theres no way you can rebuild it, altho all i need is to have the piston screwed back on.

its throw away, sad but true

Go check the rodeo in the members thread with the live conversion an about 40k spent on it... hes an apprentice

They sold out the business to All about steering and Suspension in Moss St, Slacks Creek. However they are not cheap, it would cost you more then a new shock if it were possible. It is only worth reconditioning expensive shocks.

Agree with just replacing it but if you are really keen on getting it repaired you can also try W&W Shock Absorbers on the northside too, pretty reasonably priced and they do good work.
