If it can be classed as a Road train, then at least in NSW you can only bring it in to about Dubbo (from my direction) which is about 5 hours from Sydney.

Not helpful at all but... A mate of a mate did it in Vic with a F350, toolbox trailer set up with welders and generators ect and a little trailer with a small forklift on it on th back. Cops pulled him over, he had a B-double ticket, police had nothing to book him for.

Answering your original question is very easy - for NSW anyway - sorry - thought you were there.

Read page 3 here:
http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/ ... ailers.pdf
Towing more than one trailer at a time is not allowed

Here is an exploroz thread on the topic:

If there is no specific rule in QLD - I suspect you would need to abide by this:
http://www.transport.qld.gov.au/.../Pdf ... t_2009.pdf

I think you are just asking for a bunch of headaches. Even if you CAN do it in QLD, you cannot drive it down over the border, and you probably wouldn't be able to drive it in a city.

Having twin axles changes the whole driving status.

Ive seena vidi where a team like Top Gear set out to tow 2 trailers... hmm... what a mess.
The 2nd one got the sways and it all went hrribly wrong. Under braking ,,, well it just didnt work at all.

You would need to purpose build in prob 2 axles on each and some sort of antisway etc etc etc.

Here the USA take on it; http://rv-roadtrips.thefuntimesguide.co ... towing.php

this is what i will do if i cant do the other way
i mean the times i will tow 2 trailers is when we go to a family bike ride like the ones that dalby moto and other p&c people run
basicly drive to the event park camper unload and ride no offroading with the trailers on unless you cal gravel roads offroad
thanks for the replies the goose neck trailer is somrthing i have thought about but my f350 only seats 3 and the cruiser seats 8 and i fill all the seats with my kids
also already have the 2 trailers have tested how they tow [not many cops where i live] and moved the lead trailers axle to get the best braking and the ideal weights ie-ball weights
with both trailers hooked up with full load it stops 2.2m earlier than with 1 trailer and a full 3.4m earlier than with no trailers,so that can be proven
also 2 trailers break down into smaller units than a big dog trailer so it easier when camping withlots of bikes
thanks for all the input i am talking to my solicitor about this as well because just because they say you cant doesnt mean i cant

the quikest way to find out the ruling on it is just to start doing it. when you get pulled over get them to prove your doing something wrong and let us know the result.id be keen to know

the biggest problem i think you will have is u got a 350 and cruiser. to pull more than one trailer you need a navara like the adds. you know the biggest pullers /

good point, but if they are the same as here in Vic, they join at 2 points not 1 so they no longer articulate, it must be tough on tyres.
Peter.

yes i have seen that ,that is what got me thinking ,i did think about just joining the 2 trailers to make one big one but tyres were the issue[scrubbing mainly] still thinking that that way might be the way.
unless i join the 2 together like a dog trailer have the bikes loaded up front and over the hitch and have the camper at the rear, might be feasable??
still looking for light vehicle towing legislation but
not the jargon that they want you to know but the stuff that they dont want you to know

have just found out that the max length of a light vehicle combination is 12.5m so the 2 trailer idea might be gone
heavy vehicles ie- over 4.5t can go up to 19m so i am out to measure my trailers

I think you will have trouble as they won't recognize the combination. Trucks and trailers have to be plated "road train" or "B/Double" and comply with a full set of rules before you can tow them in a road train or B/Double combination, as do tow hitches. If you fit a tow hitch to the rear of a trailer it should be certified and this is where they may get you.
Your idea of building a dog trailer should work but I think it will have to be built as a single trailer with a fixed coupling and certified, plated and registered as one.
Good luck, Adam
