Oh, I forgot nobody else has seen the rules. Brenden is on holidays as I am, I am sure he will post them up when he gets back.

Most rules are common sense for safety.
You get time penalties for speeding in the speed limit zones. 2 minutes for first offence and so on.
Time penalties for bad language near spectators, abusive behavior, being an idiot, driving off the track, not letting someone pass, limbs outside of vehicle, winch rules and my favourite rule - 2 minute penalty for excessive bumping. I think this is for Tony's benefit (Ruff)

It talks about having a roof, doors, adequate floor and anything you carry must be secured in case you roll over etc.

You must have a horn or a whistle or some other method to let the person you are following know you want to overtake. I am going to use the theme music to jaws if I compete this time.

I don't know why but tyres have to be between 35" and 48" in diameter.

There are refuelling rules including no NOS refills.

We will be keeping record of lap times so we can compare with each other and between different years. You will have to sign at each checkpoint and you will have a 15 minute break every lap. This is probably a good opportunity for an interview and some repairs if you need any.

There will be some recovery vehicles.

but an actual serious question....have you Shane or Brendan even seen the terrain that a buggy is capable of driving..not talking about a truck like Bretts but a full on buggy...mine is a sh!tter and i seriously cant see too much that would concern me enough to want to put a winch on my car..let alone some of the better buggies or rigs that would be out there..from the pics that whole track looks driveable for my car...like i say that is from the pics and i fully plan on coming out and driving the track in the next few weeks when i can get a spare day..
i will also try and talk someone into bringing the scrapper out..that is a capable buggy that would seriously eat everything imo

Water and mud will be a PITA on these ledges...

So whats the deal with the single seat buggies...and their spotters/navies/runners...how do they have to get aroung the course? Do they have to start from the start line or can they just camp out where they are needed. Can a runner support more than one car? Can more than one runner support a single car?

Because whenever Tony, Dave, Sam and a couple of others come around for a lap we will change the course so they have to take the hard lines.

On the last photo there are really big rocks to the left which is the easy line but I don't have any photos of this section.

Generally speaking all the photos are of the easy lines, the hard lines will most likely have to be winched to get pass someone however there are a lot of sections with multiple lines but you can't take photos of everything. I had to delete photos because I didn't realise the Mrs had taken hundreds of photos without uploading them.

Except for the few photos that Rolly posted up there are just about no photos of the main creek run.

I am sure the runner can start where ever they want. I would like to limit each driver to 1 runner but Brenden will make that call.

After driving the track you should have a good idea where you will need the Nav to wait for you however it would be a bummer if you get stuck on the wrong section. You are most likely going to get stuck when you are doing a hard core passing move.

I will let Brenden answer the other question about runners supporting more then 1 car but I can't see it being a problem. I do this in red hoping Brenden will see it.

I am going to be laughing when Tony and Dave can't drive the easy ledges because there is some serioius slippery Moss on these. I can see Ruff now making smoke for about 10 minutes trying to wear off the Moss.

Most of the time this creek is dry.. as long as we don't get much rain mid year, I don't think there will be to many issues with the water/mud

yes i think we all have seen what buggies can drive and it is impressive .
but to make comments on the track from a photo is pretty dumb .
get the cobwebs off your buggy and get out there and have a look and then make a realistic comment . :shock: .

ps. the track is yet to be driven by any vehicle. i wouldnt even bother attempting half the lines in there, for 2 metre undercut, wet rock ledges would destroy my car. when u guys go out, let us know, beacuse id love to see someone drive them.

Are you serious, why talk like that. 11Evil competes with the Buggies at the Suspension Stuff comp including Yuri in a single seater and several twin seaters including Rolly who came 4th in Tough Truck in his Truggy. Yes he is in a lower class but prefers the challenge.

We don't want to have to crack open the black and white video's so I think it is a good question to ask about specs, we would all be interested. Quite a few would have new vehicles and upgrades by now.

By the way are you considering making the journey north?

which is exactly why i said from the photos it looks fine..and also why i said not comparing your truck to a buggy....i wouldnt expect you to want to smash your car to pieces trying to drive something whereas i couldnt give two rats about my car whether it rolls , breaks whatever...

if i am needing to winch to compete in this event then i wont be entering it..there is no way that i am going to mount a winch somewhere on my buggy and have to use it to drag the vehicle up somewhere..it just simply wont be safe..if the cable breaks i would most likely be a dead man or lose my nuts..one of the two

the main reason i asked the question about have they seen them is i know that you take your car out there Brett and realistically if winching is definitely needed then this comp will suit Tuff Truck style vehicles like yours which are designed to winch..the buggies were never built to winch as that is not what the comps were about

thats exactly what i was trying to say dave go out and have a look and a drive you cant judge a track or terrain by a photo .
put your ideas forward to branden and shane and try and have some input into making the comp a success.
at the moment the comp is not set up for tuff truck style vehicles at all .
it would suit either a winch challenge truck or a well set up buggy.
the comp is being set up as an endurance event and most probably will involve some winching at some stage wether it be to complete a track or recover your car if it breaks .

IMO

Where the buggies may require winches is the dirt tracks used to exit from the creek, I can see these tracks deteriorating quickly leaving two wheel ruts with increasing of opportunity to diffout as the day progresses.

is either one of you planning on going out again in the near future...i can probably get out in a couple of weeks for a run if you are interested...

like i say if i have to winch then count me out..i am not taking the risk of having a winch sitting 2 foot from me spooling under that sort of weight..there is nowhere safe to mount it on here

What about a hand winch? Is that still nut territory?

If you can't drive the track now, I dare say you would by the time the event starts due to rock stacking however if you want to overtake in the rocks you will want to take harder lines. If you don't want to winch then you just might have to wait at times for others to get out of your way.

I do want to see some single seater buggies trying to mix it with the more capable rigs :D

Been watching this thread and getting excited. We will be out there in the big old heavy bus to have a go anyway. Sh1t we may not finish the first lap. But we will be keen to drive track before hand anyway. Shane whats the chances of a 3t 7 seater wagon on 35s or 37s, twin locked, sliders,winch etc and not caring about it getting around this track.?dont want to hold everyone up if we have to winch half the track. Raced with evill11 ages ago down near that way and had a ball.

sweeeeeet post up when the big rigs have made it a bit easier and we will come and have a look. The park seems to be going from strenght to strenght. I like what you guys are doing down there comp wise, heaps of variation and a bit outside the square, it is a credit to you all. :armsup:

11evel may have driven against the yuri buggys and one of them was a dinosaur as far as buggys go. But when it comes to some of the buggys out there the definetly tuff little zook wouldnt stand a chance.
Apples and Oranges there mate.
If you know anything about the scrapper buggy then could you imagine Sam Or Tony behind the wheel in this comp?? No winch will be needed and they will be scarry quick.



Oh yeah and i dont think Rolly will really like you calling his truck a Buggy :lol:


Bowlsey i dont think you will be needing a winch. Knowing what the buggys can drive in the right hands anyway. But get out there and see for yourself Dave who knows you might acctually have some fun :idea:



What is wrong for say a buggy that might need a pull over something to ask another vehicle to give them a snatch or tow????? It will only impede the vehicle that is doing the tow.
