Tailshaft spacer bolts

Post by sprungupcruiser »

I ordered a 25 mm tailshaft spacer for my bj73 cruiser from BBM late last year and it didn't come with any bolts. I tried to chase some up but then found that it was an 11mm bolt, the bloke at the fastener joint said I'd need to go to toyota, I did so with no luck. I just tried calling BBM and they are closed 'til next week. So should the spacer have come with the bolts or is there a good place to get them?.....

i rekon the bloke at the fastener place is confused...

make sure u tell him it doesnt matter wat thread they are.. I have a spacer in the arse of my 80 and i just had to get imperial bolts for it not metric...

when i originally went to get my bolts i took one of my std bolts in and the guy behind the counter got all confused and also told me that i needed to goto toyota,... until i explained that i didnt need anything that thread just the right diameter

haha nah funnily enough when he looked at and put it in the test bolts he asked if it was a landcruiser driveshaft bolt. so he seemed to get it, the imperial bolt is an option but it would be 11.2 mm dia. so i would need to reem it out, which would be a pain in the arse.

i pulled out the factory tailshaft bolts and took it to a fasteners place, and asked for this bolt 25mm longer, it was a imperial bolt in fine thread(BSF i think).... Dont get them in the coarse thread.

No reason why you cant do that as long as its grade 8.8..
