i have the arb fridge, goes real good but ive only had it 6 months without being turned off.
the bag is shit, but its meant to be changing as we speak.
the blue plastic around the top isnt uv stable and is bleaching in the sun (i have it on the back of my ute)
the seals leak in rain so the fridge gets water in it, but it has a drain plug so it isnt that bad.
the latch is good, better than engel atleast.
im pretty happy with it in the end, keeps icecream frozen, food cold, turns coke cans into slushy during the day if i want, just so much better than an esky with a freezer block.

turbos are nice but i'd rather be blown
I've had 2 waeco's over nearly 10 years now (upgraded 60l to a 110) and never seen mine or any others i know 'crack and warp'......... I've seen plently of Engels scratched and dented though....... fins glued? What?DAVESGQ wrote:go Engel. not made from plastic (waeco)that will crack and warp, better hinge design, better motor.......
Waeco hinges are reversible, making the fridge more adaptable IMO. Never seen a broken hinge either. I have borrowed an Engel in the past, the rear mounted hinges means you may not be able to open the lid right up in the car as it hits the roof (as i found) which means you have to hold it open whilst trying to dig stuff out. A PITA.
Better motor? on what grounds?
Each to their own, i did my own analysis and am happy with my waeco.
