aircon compressor help

Post by jbates58 »

hi all

well just got back from the aircon joint today, and he told me that my shaft seal on my sanden compressor is buggered, and all my gas has leaked out cos of it. so, its a 1992 GQ patrol, TD42, and it has a Sanden 508 compressor, and its a 9040 Model. i am after another compressor, but i want a bigger and better one if there is one available. can anybody shed any light on the subject? i am able to take measurements of most things if required. just let me know.

cheers

You might be able to drop in a Sanden SD-708 where the SD-508 was, which is beefier. But I am not really sure it's worth it. I am not sure you will get any difference in performance anyway, as the TX valve is going to regulate flow through the evaporator.

If you do a search on SD-708, SD-508 etc you will probably find some info about interchangeability.
This is not legal advice.
