Just making a set of rock sliders for my lwb GQ. Just wanting to find out the ideal position for the slider bar (directly under the sill or to one side of it).
Also, the rough distance it should be from the sill because of the slider flexing when running over and object.
Cheers

I ran my rock sliders 5mm from the sill, the sill got dented slightly. Would recomend 10-15mm. This however may drop the slider below the chassis level. The other option is to notch the sill at the the point where the sliders pass under. Or just chop the sill off and replace with a section of tube. My slider started under the sill and stuck out about a 100mm. Sliders that stick out further offer more protection but on a down side are easyer to get stuck on.
Anything is possible, it just comes down to time and money.
