For about 2 years i have repaired my power steering more than 2 time (for more than 15 years there was no problem). Since i have changed the oil shield (daihatsu doesn't have any for it) they where giving me the wrong after market type. So i order a high pressure oil shield to do the job.
Here you can see the oil shield (the black one)
So i pulled out the small shaft to take measures and buy a proper oil shield. My problem now is how to put back again the small shaft.
Here you can see in the power steer small metall balls that are used to screw the shaft properly.
Now i cant fit it in what should i do? My thoughts where to pull out the hole power steer so i can wark properly. First idea is to put some grease on the screw line the shaft has and stick the metal balls on it.
The only picture daihatsu manual has its this one, but it doesn't help much.
The streering box is dead (born 92 died 2010) The oil inside was black and some metal balls where smashed into dust. Therefore no reason to repair it. I got a second hand steering box from a friend where accidentally he bought a feroza with second hand parts. I will ask how much to repair my broken gearbox (if can be done) so i will have it for backup.
