i havent really driven my gq much yet because its still in the process of getting built up but i have a 4" suspension lift and i just put a 2" BL in on saturday arvo...

i wasnt going to put it in but i ended up deciding on putting it in because its just good to know you have that bit of extra space between your chassis and body for which ever new future mod you decide to do... plus i will be running 37s..

i can select every gear except 4L which isnt to much of a problem and i just lengthened my clutch line because it was a bit tight... your fan cover will be a bit in the way unless u have thermos.. all very easy and quick fixes though

Good to see you have no intention of using it as a 4WD. [/sarcasm]
What's the difference between ignorance and apathy? I don't know and I don't care.

I have the 2" BL in my GQ wagon using Acetal rod (black plastic type stuff).
Its been on for about 80,000kms and has been over plenty of corrugated roads etc , 4wding etc.
No clunking. I did have to tighten them up once
A couple of benefits are:
1) More clearance around the gearbox / body which is good for clutch repairs and gives more cool air around components.
2) Allows long range fuel tanks to be built that little bit bigger or have the tank mounted 50mm higher

Some areas of attention to make it work properly:
1) Gearsticks might need a bit of a bend to suit the hole in body. No biggie, bit of heat and trial and error.
2) You will need to check the clutch line on a 4.2 diesel ( dont know about others) andmaybe bend the lower bracket down
3)I lowered the radiator fan cowl by making some alloy brackets
4) Bullbar needed to be raised as bar obscured h/lights

I reckon, if you wanted to do a small body lift, probably 1" and you wouldnt have to do any mods. Then again, for 1" extra why wouldnt you stick in coil spacers?
