Strengthening rear uper spring mounts on a GQ

Post by Clanky »

Anyone have any pics or tips of their strengthening jobs on the upper rear coil mounts for a GQ wagon?

I have a 2" body lift which gives me a bit extra room to play

All the brackets as well as the top brace are all 6mm .
The corner braces are weld in.
Top brace is bolt in.
For most guys just bolting in the top brace is sufficient.
If your towers have brocken and torn the chassis it is recommended to do both.
We are working on a Wagon crossmember very soon but the corner braces can be used on them.

The website says the one you have will fit a wagon with 2" body lift ( suits me). Are you talking for wagon with no BL?

The brace and gussets fit the gq and gu ute with or without tray lift.

As far as the wagons you will need a 2 inch cab lift ( maybe one inch ? i will have to check when i have one in again) but the gussets fit either way.

Hope that clarified it a bit better.

All part numbers are on the web for you.
