Best place to find H150 or H151 gearbox Perth area?

Post by oilburner »

Hello, I live in Canada and need a diesel H150 or H151 gearbox for a diesel conversion I am carrying out on my FZJ80. I have contacted a few breakers in Australia and have been quoted what I feel is completely unreasonable for take-out units. Since I am halfway around the world, 90 day exchange warranty doesn't help much!

I have relatives in Perth that can crate the unit and drop it off at a shipping dock, or would be willing to pay crating expenses if someone wanted to send me one. I know shipping is going ot be expensive, but they never sold these gearboxes in north america so my options are limited.

I can reuse the HF2AV transfer box, so just the gearbox, bellhousing and clutch parts would be necessary. Would buy worn unit to rebuild or a box in good nick. Willing to pay fair price and pay for crating expenses and shipping, or drop off at my aunt and uncle's place in Perth, they will deal with the shipping end of things.

Do you guys have any recommendations for who to call? I feel like I am getting taken for a ride. I've posted in the classifieds but I guess people are concerned given the amount of scams perpetuated on the internet.

Any ideas welcome, this 20L per 100km is killing me!

Thanks

You're possibly in luck :?:

I used to help out US guys wanting our parts for many years and have crated and shipped just about every diesel part you can think of including complete 1HZ engines with 5 speed and transfer, multitude of 60 series complete 5 speeds, aftermarket accessories, Toyota new parts, snorkel, complete disc brake rear diff, etc etc etc.

This is a crate with thousands of dollars of Toyota parts including ARB bullbar, sub fuel tank, genuine parts and as you will see even the complete roof section of a Troopcarrier truck. I did this page for the recipient to keep him up to speed.

Also shipped dual cab bodies. This crate included the doors plus a set of spares, 6 x 5 speeds with transfers, 40 series parts plus others.

But I guess you want one of these :D. Can't remember what State this went to :D

However, I stopped helping out US guys some time ago as as usual there are always some that stuff it up for others as I got stiffed big time by a couple of guys who never paid me etc.

The classis however was sourcing and shipping a complete running 1994 Troopcarrier in a container back to a guy in Japan :D

If you email me I might consider helping out, ie I can source, crate and ship the whole deal.

Back in those days our dollar was low so the US guys got a great discount but it's now high, so costs will be high in real terms.
