Spring I.D

Does anyone know what companies sell light blue springs? I cant find any part numbers or I.D numbers on mine. I want to find out what they are, I'm up for new shocks, so I want to find some that work well with my springs and I would like to know the load rating etc.

Dobinson springs are light blue.
Measure the diameter of the wire, eg, 18mm or 19 mm etc and the amounts of wraps in the coil.

Lovells also. I thought Dobinsons were almost a blue/aqua?

I tried to make the font that Dobinsons blue! Me and computers dont see eye to eye... I thought Lovells were more royale blue. The springs are that cyan/aqua colour(Dobinsons by the looks of it). Do they have a part number on them somewhere?

Whats all the info I need? I cant find a part number on them! Thats why I asked "do they have a part number on them" so I know where to look! Do I have to take the spring out? Is the number on the top or the bottom of the coil?
If I measure the wire and count the coils what does that tell me? That it's 18 or 19 mm and X amount of coils!

He's sayig that if you can work out the wire diameter, the coil diameter and the number of winds on the spring then you can work out the spring rate which is what you're after.

krooza - I meant that if you measured what Ruffy said you would have all the info you need.

And if you told dobinsons the application, wire diameter, and number of coils, they could give you the PN and specs.

You'd need the measurement for the diameter of the spring too. But if you know the application you probably know or can find this measurement.

Yeah I looked at that, but my findings dont look right. I had to measure with a tape measure! I got front coil spring rate 297.83 and back 389.47 pounds per square inch. Coils come in at wire 18mm, coil width 150mm.height 350mm in the car with no extra weight but an alloy front bar.

I rang them with the info but they cant give me an answer as 3 and 4 inch have the same wire diameter and coil numbers! BUT! I thought I had 2inch springs in it, as it turns out with this info I gave them, I have 3 inches of lift...This explains the steering wondering all over the place! Looks like I will need caster correction after all . I kept reading that 2 inch dont need caster bushes and couldnt figure out why my steering was up the poo!

That's about right for a heavy 4wd.
What is it?

My rangie runs 180lb/in in the front and 240 lb/in in the rear at the moment.

It's an 80 series cruiser. It seems hard! If I go around a corner on the bitumen at about 45-50 ks it feel like it's gonna fall over! I thought they would be softer than what I worked out...
