just a quick question .is it true you cant replace the bearings on a jeep wrangler you have to change the axel ? if so what are the costs

What model Wrangler, If its like TJ onwards then they are a complete wheel bearing Something like say front AU BA BF ford of VR TO VZ commodore if and maybe you had one done!! look on EBAY around $ 230 plus postage or out of USA about $ 70-80 plus postage , or ring up CBC or your local bearing shop. They are really eazy to do.

Fronts are a unit bearing, rears need the retainer removed and pressed on.

Not the cheapo crap Ebay jobbies, but genuine Made in the USA hubs.

Aren't the rear bearings a needle type that press's/ taps into housing and they run on the axel just like the early semi-floating landcruiser b4 the full floaters?? So when they wear you can get the axel metal sprayed up/rebuild or whatever???? Wonder where these wooders supplied bearings are made? p.s I've bought two front bearings of EBAY mid last year on sale at $150 each made in USA!! How good was that!! Just gotta know what ya buying.

You do NOT need to change the axle in either case. Unless the axle is in some other way damaged. But it's worth inspecting the splines (for twisting), shaft straighteness or excessive seal wear - and replacing if required.
Nope the rears in the Aussie TJ's are pressed onto the shaft followed by an axle retainer ring. Since the seal it outside the bearing/retainer it's worth spending a few bucks extra to replace those at the same time. I suspect you are thinking of the Dana 35 diff using in US TJ's and XJ's where the bearings run directly on the shaft and wear it. Not the case with Aussie TJ's and their Dana 44 diff
Our front hubs/bearings are Made in USA. Our rear bearings & retainers are also USA made.

Hi there Wooders, i've only done xj rear bearings but never a TJ rear! and heaps of front wheel bearings on all. Well there you go i never new about the TJ rear AUSSI OR USA!! come to think about it I dont think i've ever done any!! thanx 4 clearing that up, will be in contact for some body lift kits and sway bar disconnects.
