China Air lockers - EOI
I am buying a couple sets for myself and want to see if there is any interest in a group buy to share the freight costs.
I am looking at bringing in the RD88 kit to suite the rear end of a Suzuki sierra and or front with upgraded axle with 26 spline shafts. Also suites Vitara front
The kit includes china air locker, compressor and all associated wiring and switches.......they have a 12mth parts warranty with the manufacturer in China
They will be $600 a unit if picked up in Melbourne or freighted in Aus for cost of freight on top.
If you want one you will need to pay upfront.
Not asking for opinions of what is better and reviews just let me know if you want in...very simple....

They have a 12mths part warranty from the supplier. I can assit with interstate transport not an issue but that will be extrat cost. sorry to harry on the same questions but what will parts back up be like? will you be carrying spare parts for after sales service? will it be cashie or sold from your business? as this effects customer security in product quality. i.e a business has certain requirments to back up their product if it has any issues.jtraf wrote:They have a 12mths part warranty from the supplier. i think its worth it. i wouldnt be worryed about braking the locker i would more be worryed about the relabilt of it as in to lock and unlock, leaks ect.
if it goes ahead i will be interested to put one in the front and get the real deal in the rear.

I have edited the post a number times to make it clearer. I said right from the start I am not a business and am looking at bringing some in for me and if there was any interest from the Outers community. I doubt you would find a business interested in selling these over the couter due to recource from ARB as they are a knock off.
I am going to put my bucks down and so is my brother. I need another three to make it a viable option to bring them in with a shared freight option.
From what I have read there are others out there already using them they have not has problems. And I have tried to find other that have experienced failure.

Ok guys it is a learning experience for me so please be patient.
I am currently working on what it will cost to freight these locker kits to each state in australia. That way I can say $600 for the locker + XYZ to WA and XYZ to QLD.
Willl have this sorted out tomorrow or the next depending on if work goes to the dogs like most Mondays.
In relation to dollars I need to pay upfront so the expectation is if you are in you put your dollars with mine and away from there.

If no one else decides to buy the China Locker well really there is nothing lost from my perspective. The thread dies.........who cares............I don't......
If you want to discuss the merits of different locking systems I am starting a new thread come over and share your wisdom great......at the end of the day $600 for the locker, compressor wiring and switches delivered to melbourne....extra for those interstate is not a lot of money considering....
Anyway want to talk lockers come to the discussion thread.....

At the moment I am dealing with customs as an order of 5 or more will attract their attention and duty will need to be paid. I am just working out what the rate of duty will be as I have calculated it using figures off the web site but I need to get it right so that there is not a great shock when it hits the ports.........
The government needs to makes it dollars too.
I will advise exactly when it will occur and update the post. I would say it is three to four weeks away from needing dollars committed if you want in

you may also need to pay a customs clearance agent as well as any airport fees at this end to process the shipment.
it all adds up. so make sure you know your exact costs first so you dont get burnt trying to organise it for others.

Customs and the amount of duty and import fee's is proving difficult. They charge duty on the whole amount at a % inc freight and then charge 10% GST on top of that again. But am having difficulty getting a straight answer and don't want to stuff people around later.........once worked out I will advise and if people still interested it will go ahead.

dont get me wrong, some things arrive not taxed but if its all done legitimately you end up paying a fair whack.
The hardest part will be finding exactly what the lockers fall under for duty. the rest should be easy to calculate. (cost + freight) x 1.duty % x 1.1 = total cost if you can do the customs clearance yourself.
often there are several 'headings they can fall under... this is where it gets grey.
