i have a 78 bj40 with the 4 cylinder 3litre bmotor.Igot hold of a small turbo and want to know if it would be suitable for this motor the intake housing is .42 and the exhaust is .63 i am also trying to work out what the mounting bolt pattern is eg t4 t3 etc the bolt holes are 85mm from center to center across and 45mm the other way any info would be great thanks

Those A/R's and measurements sound like a T3 based turbo. I think they're a little large for the best match on your engine. Particularly the exhaust side but I think 0.48 is as small as the common T3 housings get.
It'll still work but you won't have the same low end boost you could have.

Have you seen the GT2052 turbos that guys on IH8MUD are using? I sized them up for a 3B but they'll still work very well on the slightly smaller B.
